Dogs and pigeons killed in Middlesbrough arson attack

A family has been left "devastated" after their two dogs and 20 pigeons were killed in an arson attack.

Three vehicles were set on fire at South Bank allotments in Middlesbrough in the early hours of the morning.

The blaze spread to a nearby shed containing 20 pigeons and two dogs, husky Sky and terrier Pippa, which were killed.

Cleveland Police said a 28-year-old local man had been arrested in connection with the fire.
