An 18-year-old motorcyclist has died in a crash with a car on Teesside.

It happened at the junction of Birchington Avenue and St Andrews Road East in Grangetown at about 19:30 BST on Sunday.

Charlie Stubley, a member of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, and of Teesville, was riding an off-road style motorbike which collided with a Ford Ka.

Paying tribute, his family said "our hearts are ripped in two".

Police are appealing for witnesses and the driver of a Silver Vauxhall Meriva, seen in the area at the time, to contact them.
