Redcar rape: Woman arrested in police time wasting inquiry
A woman who claimed she was bundled into a car and raped in front of her toddler has been arrested on suspicion of wasting police time.
The woman in her 30s alleged she and her child were abducted by two men from Redcar seafront on 3 March.
Cleveland Police later found the incident was "not as first reported" and dropped the search. One man was arrested but released without charge.
Officers say the woman is being questioned and remains in custody.
