Golf club attack by Newcastle taxi driver
A taxi driver who attacked a passenger with a golf club is being sought by police on Tyneside.
The 36-year-old man suffered a head injury during the incident early on Sunday.
He had travelled in the taxi from Newcastle city centre to Rosewood Avenue in Gosforth, where it stopped and a dispute broke out about the fare.
A Northumbria Police spokesman described it as a "nasty attack" and appealed for witnesses.
He added: "Newcastle taxi drivers have an excellent reputation, the majority are trustworthy and will ensure you get home safely."
