Newcastle Crown Court judge summoned to court over dog

A Newcastle Crown Court judge is to appear in court accused of failing to keep her dog under proper control.

Judge Beatrice Bolton, 56, from Rothbury, Northumberland, has been summoned by police to appear at Alnwick Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

It follows an alleged incident on 31 May in Rothbury, Northumbria Police said.

The judge is on leave and has not been suspended, said a spokesman for the Judicial Communications Office.
