Man re-arrested over South Tyneside house shooting

Police investigating a shooting on South Tyneside have re-arrested a man.

Officers were called to an address in Grasmere Road, Hebburn, on Tuesday, where they found a 27-year-old with bullet wounds.

A 36-year-old man, originally arrested on suspicion of attempted murder is now being held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Three people arrested in connection with the attack during police raids on Friday have been released on bail.

The men, 28, 31 and 52, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Another man aged 55 and a 28-year-old woman arrested during the same raids on suspicion of drugs offences have also been bailed pending further inquiries.

The victim was released from hospital after treatment.
