Rural residents in Northumberland quizzed on needs

People living in rural Northumberland are to be asked to identify any difficulties they may have in accessing local services.

A questionnaire is being sent out to more than 1,000 households in Matfen, Stamfordham, Great Whittington, Capheaton and surrounding hamlets.

It will ask residents how they get to shops, health or leisure facilities, churches, schools and community events.

Once collated, the results will be used in helping to resolve any problems.

A spokesperson for Northumberland County Council said: "The more people who respond, the more accurate a picture we will have of the access issues in this area."
