Man suffers fractured jaw outside Newcastle pub

A man suffered a broken jaw when he was attacked outside a Tyneside pub.

The 21-year-old victim was punched as he stood outside Bar 42 in Hood Street, Newcastle, having a cigarette.

He needed surgery after the attack on 26 November and Northumbria Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A force spokesman said a group of men was at the entrance to the pub and appealed for them to come forward if they saw the assault.
