Man arrested in Newcastle shooting inquiry

A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Newcastle in which a man was injured.

The 40-year-old man suffered leg injuries in Lemington on 29 January. He is now recovering.

Northumbria Police said a 42-year-old man was arrested on Monday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was released on bail.

Two 17-year-old boys had already been arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
