Four held after Blyth stab victim dies

Four people are in custody after a man found with stab wounds in Northumberland died in hospital.

The 24-year-old victim, who has not yet been named, was discovered near Windmill Grove flats in Cowpen Road, Blyth, early on Tuesday.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said the man was taken to Wansbeck Hospital, but died shortly afterwards.

The spokesman said four people had since been arrested and were being questioned by detectives.

Forensic teams are currently at the scene and surrounding roads have been closed to traffic.
