Teenage girls charged with man's murder in Blyth

Two teenage girls have been charged with the murder of a man found with stab wounds in Northumberland.

Christopher Chapman, 24, of Windmill Grove, Cowpen, Blyth, was taken to hospital after being found in the town early on Tuesday but he died later.

An 18-year-old, from Ashington, and a 16-year-old, from Blyth, have been jointly charged with murder and are due in court on Thursday.

A man and woman who were also arrested were released with no further action.

The two teenagers are due to appear at South East Northumberland Magistrates Court.
