Six arrests after women stabbed in Sunderland

Six people have been arrested after two women were stabbed in Sunderland.

Police were called to Thorntree Mews on Saturday night, following reports of a disturbance.

The women, aged 45 and 22, were taken to hospital. The 22-year-old was later released after treatment and has now been arrested.

Police are also continuing to question three men - aged 16, 24 and 58 - as well as a 48-year-old woman and another in her 70s.

Officers are also appealing for help in tracing two men who left the scene in a black 4X4 vehicle.
