Man suffers eye injury in Newcastle pub attack

Two men and a woman have been arrested over two separate attacks on men in pubs in Newcastle city centre.

In the first incident at The Dog in Marlborough Crescent on Friday, a 19-year-old man suffered a fractured eye socket and needed hospital treatment.

Northumbria Police say they are linking this with a later incident at the Eclipse bar in Clayton Street West in which two men aged 46 and 41 were hurt.

Two men aged 30 and a woman, 28, were arrested on suspicion of wounding.

They have been bailed pending further inquiries.
