Tributes to man killed in East Boldon crash

The family of a man who died in a crash in South Tyneside has described him as "popular and carefree".

Craig Walton, 20, from the Hebburn area, died after crashing into traffic lights and a wall in Sunderland Road, East Boldon, on 5 May.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. His family said he was a "sensitive, caring" man and was "helpful and friendly to everyone he met."

"He had a genuine heart of gold and a cheeky smile," they added.

"We are very grateful to everyone for their kind support at this sad time and thank them for the cards and for the floral and Facebook tributes."
