Appeal over Northumberland motorbike hit-and-run

A motorcyclist hit a mother and daughter in Northumberland and then rode off, police said.

The 25-year-old woman and her five-year-old daughter were crossing Cowpen Road, Blyth, at 1615 BST on Wednesday, when they were hit by a red motorbike.

They were treated by ambulance staff at the scene for cuts and bruises.

Northumbria Police said the motorbike may have had an L-plate attached to the back and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
