Woman's death in Newcastle 'not suspicious'

The death of a woman found in a house on Tyneside is no longer being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.

Carieanne Downs, 31, was found dead at a flat in Vallum Court, Newcastle, on Monday.

Two men, aged 31 and 36, were arrested on suspicion of drug-related offences and released on bail.

But Northumbria Police have now said "no third party" was involved in the death and toxicology tests were being carried out on Ms Downs' body.

A police statement said: "Following the post-mortem examination officers are satisfied that there has been no third party involvement in the death and a report will be prepared for the coroner."
