Two arrests over Gateshead house stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a triple stabbing at a house in Gateshead.

Emergency services were called to Cranesville, Beacon Lough, near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital shortly after 0200 BST on Saturday.

Two women, aged 19 and 36, and a 22-year-old man are in a stable condition.

The 33-year-old man, from Berwick, was arrested. A woman, 36, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
