Woman 'trapped under her own car' in East Stanley

A woman was trapped under her own car and had to be released by firefighters in County Durham.

Emergency services were called to Betjeman Close, East Stanley, shortly before 1200 BST.

The woman was released by fire crews and taken by air ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, with leg injuries.

Durham Police said they believed the car involved was an automatic but there were no further details.
