Two injured in Sunderland house stab assault

Two men were found with serious stab wounds at a house in Sunderland.

Emergency services were called to reports of an assault at an address in Carley Road at 19:42 BST on Thursday.

Northumbria Police said two men, aged 23 and 30, were taken to hospital. Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of wounding. Police said it appeared to be an isolated incident between people who knew each other.

But they said additional patrols would be carried out in the area.
