Michael Pollard was man killed in Howick barrier crash

Police have named a motorist who died in a one-car crash in Northumberland.

Michael Frederick Pollard, 42, from Birtley, Gateshead crashed into a roadside barrier on the B1339 at Howick, near Alnwick, on Sunday.

Mr Pollard, who was driving northbound in a silver Mazda MX5 convertible at 12:50 BST, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.

Northumbria police are appealing for witnesses to the accident or who saw three Mazda cars in the area.
