Motorcylist killed by car after fall at Bellingham

A man has been killed after falling from his motorcycle and then being hit by a car travelling in the opposite direction in Northumberland.

Alan Young was riding his Yamaha on the C200 at Bellingham when he lost control at the approach to a bend.

The 48-year-old, from the Seghill area, landed on the road and was struck by a Renault Scenic.

Anyone who witnessed the incident at about 11:25 BST on Saturday has been asked to contact Northumbria Police.
