Police have released the name of a man found dead at a house in County Durham.

A murder investigation is under way after the body of Cole Wilson was discovered at the property in Sledmere Close, Peterlee, early on Sunday.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the 20-year-old, of Titan House, in the Walker area of Newcastle, died of stab wounds.

Detectives are continuing to question two women, aged 24 and 20, and a 19-year-old man, on suspicion of murder.

The women were arrested at the scene, and the man was arrested in Newcastle, a short time later.

A man and woman were also arrested at the same Newcastle address on suspicion of assisting an offender, and later bailed pending further inquiries.

A team of 30 detectives and specialist staff is involved with the investigation and an incident room has been set up.
