Cissie Carr named as North Shields crash death victim

An 85-year-old woman from North Tyneside who died after being struck by a car in her own street has been named.

Cissie Carr was hit by a light blue Fiat Punto on Tuesday, 1 November at 14:40 GMT on West Percy Street in North Shields, where she lived.

She was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital but later died from her injuries.

Northumbria Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with any information to contact them.
