South Tyneside man stabbed in attempted robbery

A 65-year-old man has been stabbed in his own home during an attempted robbery in South Tyneside.

Two men entered the house on Havelock Street and assaulted the man on Saturday, 5 November between 19:00 and 19:30 GMT.

The man suffered puncture wounds caused by a knife. The attackers left the property empty handed.

Northumbria Police are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them.

One of the offenders is described as 5ft 7in tall, of slim build and wearing a grey hoodie.

The second is about the same height, thick set, wearing a white t-shirt and black trousers.
