X Factor's Amelia Lily is the latest name to join the list of ambassadors for Middlesbrough.

The "Ambassador Club" is part of the Love Middlesbrough council-led initiative to help promote the town.

Notable people from the area help to push Middlesbrough as a place to live, work and invest. Locals are encouraged to join the campaign too.

The 17-year-old singer joins comedian Patrick Monahan, businessman Graham Ramsay and BBC Tees' Ali Brownlee.

Yaffa Phillips from Love Middlesbrough said: "We seek ambassadors of all ages who will take the message far and wide.

"We encourage people in the area to follow us on Twitter and Facebook and join in with our campaigns about vibrant Middlesbrough, a city in all but name that is regenerating itself, full of resourcefulness, creativity and talent."

Other ambassadors are Steph McGovern, BBC Presenter; Chris Smith, Managing Director at Erimus Housing; Suzannah Clarke, opera singer; Jessica Robinson, actress; Tanya Garland, Managing Director, Cool Blue Communications; Michael Maguire, Pharmacist, Marton Pharmacy; Robert Nichols, editor of Fly Me To The Moon fanzine; Lisa Holt, Founder of We Do Marketing; Dave Allan, founder of Dave Allan Communications; Claire Wordsworth, Love Middlesbrough Campaign Manager.
