Ashington fire death victim named as Philip Archer

The name of a 62-year-old man who died in a Christmas Day house fire in Northumberland has been released.

The body of Philip Archer was discovered by firefighters after the fire at an address in Bedlington had been extinguished.

Police said no one else was injured in the incident, which happened in Elgin Close at about 17:30 GMT.

Northumbria Police and Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service are continuing to investigate the cause.
