Van containing medication stolen in Heaton
Police have warned people of the danger of taking drugs not prescribed for them after a van containing medication was stolen on Tyneside.
The vehicle was making a delivery to an address on Allerton Gardens in Heaton on Wednesday when it was taken.
It was later found abandoned on Cambo Place in Cullercoats, but the anti-psychotic and anti-epileptic medication was missing from inside.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Northumbria Police.
A force spokeswoman said: "Any concoction of medication is potentially extremely dangerous, and it's equally dangerous for people to take medication which has not been prescribed to them.
"I'd warn those responsible not to consume any of the medication, and would urge people not to purchase or accept medication which is not specifically prescribed to them."
