Sister pleads not guilty to murder of brother in Ferryhill

A woman has pleaded not guilty to the murder of her brother in County Durham.

Ashley Gray, 24, died in Darlington Memorial Hospital from a stab wound to the chest, following an incident at a house on High Street, Ferryhill, on 14 October.

Claire Gray, 22, of Coniston Road, Ferryhill, appeared at Teesside Crown Court and was remanded in custody.

Ten other people were arrested in connection with the death, but were released without charge.

A trial date will be set at a court hearing on 13 January.
