Hebburn house party death: Man charged with manslaughter

A man has been charged with manslaughter after a 29-year-old died after a house party on South Tyneside.

Police believe Gareth Phillips, 29, from South Tyneside, suffered a head injury at an address in Thames Road, Hebburn, on Saturday night.

He was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary, where he died on Monday.

Brian Morl, 41, of Thames Road, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the incident.

He will appear before South Tyneside magistrates on Wednesday.
