Man cleared of Gateshead man Leslie Liddle's murder

A man was cleared of the murder of another man who died in hospital following a street assault on Tyneside.

Leslie David Liddle suffered serious head injuries outside the Gospel Methodist Church on Bensham Road, Gateshead, in September.

The 41-year-old, from the Gateshead area, died two days later.

Tyrone Urwin, 21, of St Cuthbert's Road, Gateshead, was found not guilty by a jury at Newcastle Crown Court on 8 March.
