Death crash on A696 at Kirkharle: Man charged

A man has been charged with causing death by careless driving after a 51-year-old was killed in a crash in Northumberland.

Michael Graham Fowler, from Risdale, died when his Ford Ka was in collision with a Vauxhall Combo van at crossroads on the A696, at Kirkharle, on 6 March.

The 28-year-old driver of the van was taken to hospital in a critical but stable condition and later released.

He has now been charged with causing death by careless driving.

The van driver is due to appear before South East Northumberland Magistrates' Court on 12 September.
