Motorcyclist dies after crash on A68 in Northumberland

A man has died in hospital after his motorbike was involved in a crash with a car in Northumberland.

Northumbria Police said the crash happened at about 13:15 BST on Sunday on the A68 at Carter Bar in Otterburn.

The motorcyclist, 64-year-old Ronnie Dodds of Alnwick Moor, Alnwick, was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where he died.

The road was closed for two hours to allow treatment, scene investigation and removal of the vehicles.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
