Simon Martin death: Steven Grieveson in court
A man accused of murdering a Sunderland teenager, whose semi-naked body was found in a derelict house in 1990, has appeared before a judge via video.
Steven Grieveson, 42, appeared at Newcastle Crown Court, in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Simon Martin between 17 May and 27 May, 1990.
There as no application for bail. A plea and case management hearing will now be held in February.
Simon, of Amy Street in the city, had suffered head injuries.
Judge James Goss, the Recorder of Newcastle, set a provisional trial date for 24 June.
Simon's body was found at Gilside House, Roker, Sunderland, which has since been demolished.
