Nativity bite man Lee Wilkinson warned he faces jail

A man has been told jail is almost inevitable after he "bit off" another man's finger at a nativity play in South Shields.

Lee Wilkinson, 40, pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court to unlawful wounding and a separate public order offence.

It happened in December 2011 at Harton Primary School, South Tyneside, following a feud between the men.

Wilkinson is due to be sentenced on 25 January. No children saw the assault.

Michael Dent, 32, said he had lost the tip of the little finger on his left hand during the attack, that happened before the nativity play at the school.
