Two arrests in Holywell murder probe

Two people have been arrested after a woman's body was found inside a house by police investigating a car crash.

Northumbria Police were called to a report of a car hitting a lamppost in Shiremoor, North Tyneside, shortly after 11:00 GMT.

Inquiries there led officers to force their way into an address in Holywell, Northumberland, and find the body. The identity has not yet been released.

A man, 32, and a 57-year-old woman were later arrested on suspicion of murder.
