Tyne-Wear derby disorder arrests total 47

A total of 47 people have now been arrested after football fans clashed following the Tyne-Wear derby.

Four officers were injured and 29 people were arrested after the 3-0 defeat at St James' Park on 14 April. Five have so far been charged.

A further 18 people have now been arrested and bailed on suspicion of violent disorder, after police released CCTV images from Newcastle city centre.

Newcastle United said it was "appalled" by the violence.
