A man who was found dead in a street in Newcastle has been named by police.

Stephen Francis Mclean, 45 from the local area, was found by police near Byker Wall at 02:15 BST on Saturday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men and a woman arrested in connection with his death have been released on bail.

Northumbria Police are treating the death as "unexplained" and said a post-mortem was due to be carried out later. They have appealed for witnesses.
