County Durham man arrested after girl hurt by thrown bottle

A man has been arrested after a nine-year-old girl was injured when a bottle was thrown at a car in County Durham.

The beer bottle shattered a window of the vehicle on the A693 in Stanley on 14 February.

Abbie Keers, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, suffered serious facial injuries.

A 23-year-old local man was questioned on suspicion of causing criminal damage, and later bailed pending further inquiries.
