Scott Hall from Durham dies 11 days after assault
A disabled man has died in Durham 11 days after he was assaulted, police said.
Scott Hall, 28, was found unconscious on Saturday by family members at the home he shared with his mother in Caterhouse Road in the city.
He was taken to hospital but died in the early hours of Monday.
Police said a cause of death had not yet been established, but they are investigating an assault on Mr Hall on 24 July.
He was attacked near Newton Hall Library at about 22:15 BST and treated in hospital before being released.
Two 15-year-olds were arrested in connection with the assault and are currently being held at Durham city police station.
Mr Hall's family described him as having physical and learning disabilities, adding that he lived with his mother Carol, police said.
Det Ch Insp Steve Chapman, from Durham Constabulary, said: "At this stage we are treating Scott's death as unexplained, but obviously a main line of enquiry will be to establish if there is any connection with the assault on him on 24 July.
"We are carrying out house to house enquiries in Newton Hall and would be keen to hear from anyone who might have seen the assault."
