Body found in River Wear is teenager Jordan Roberts

A body recovered from the River Wear in County Durham has been formally identified as that of missing Wearside teenager Jordan Roberts.

The 17-year-old, from Sunderland, got into difficulty after entering the river near Finchale Abbey with his brother and another friend on Monday.

Jordan's brother remains in a stable condition in hospital. The other youth received treatment at the scene.

Durham Police said Jordan's family had been informed.
