Whitley Bay death: Man found unconscious named as Lee Devlin

A man who died after being found with head injuries in North Tyneside has been named.

Lee Devlin, 40, of Charles Avenue, Whitley Bay, was found unconscious on the ground close to Whitley Bay Metro station at about 23:00 BST on Friday.

He was taken to hospital where he later died. A post-mortem examination proved inconclusive, police said.

Two men aged 18 and 19 arrested in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Mr Devlin travelled by metro from Howdon and arrived at Whitley Bay Metro station at 21:45 BST.
