Policeman hurt by trail bike in Cramlington

Two men have been arrested after a policeman was injured by a trail bike in Northumberland.

The officer was on foot when he was struck on a field next to East Cramlington Nature Reserve about 14:30 BST on Sunday,

He was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary with an injured right arm and leg.

The men, aged 20 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

The officer had been called to reports of bikes being ridden in the area.
