Durham Police search for missing time capsule
Durham Police is hunting for a time capsule buried when the old force headquarters was built in 1968.
Staff have moved to a new £14m base and the old building is being sold off for housing.
Although it is believed the capsule is at the front of the site nobody knows exactly where, the force said.
Assistant chief officer Gary Ridley said he was "really confident" it was there but everyone involved in its burial had moved on.
"We don't know what's in it either," he said.
"It's one of those things which has become blurred in the mists of time."
