Social worker denies residential school sex abuse

A former social worker has gone on trial at Newcastle Crown Court accused of sex attacks on two boys in the 1980s and 90s.

Brian Tansey, 69, denies six charges, including rape and indecent assault.

The offences are alleged to have taken place at the former Washington Hall School and at Feversham School in Walbottle.

Both were residential schools for children with behavioural and emotional problems. The trial continues.
