John Potts death: Washington man charged with manslaughter

A man has been charged over the death of a man in Wearside in the early hours of Sunday.

John Potts, 45, from Sunderland, was found with a head injury after a disturbance near NE38 Sports Bar in Barmston, Washington, and pronounced dead at the scene.

Gordon Robson, 26, of Waskerley Road, Barmston, has been charged with manslaughter.

He will appear at Sunderland Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
