Police investigating a murder in Sunderland have appealed for a taxi driver to come forward.

David Wilson, 49, was found dead at an address in Southwick Road just after 11:00 GMT on 14 December.

Officers believe his death may be linked with a report of a man being mugged near the post office cash machine in Southwick Green earlier.

The mugging victim is thought to have flagged down a taxi, and police believe the driver may hold vital information.

The taxi was flagged down between 04:09 and 04:15 GMT.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail pending further inquiries.
