Glasgow bin crash tweet: Ross Loraine, 19, cautioned

A man who used social media to post an offensive comment about the fatal bin lorry crash in Glasgow has been cautioned by police.

Ross Loraine, 19, from Sunderland, handed himself into police following complaints about his post on Twitter after six people died on 22 December.

Northumbria Police said he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of making a malicious communication.

In a statement the force said he had accepted a caution.
