Man stabbed in Valentine's Day road rage row in Benton

A man has been stabbed in a road rage attack outside a restaurant on Valentine's Day.

The victim, 20, suffered a puncture wound from what it is believed to be a screwdriver in the altercation between two couples outside Casa Antonio restaurant in Benton, North Tyneside.

Northumbria Police are trying to trace the other couple who drove off after the attack, at about 20:00 GMT.

They are also appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The injured man was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and kept in for treatment. His injuries are not said to be life-threatening.
