John Potts death: Washington's Gordon Robson admits manslaughter

A man has admitted killing a 45-year-old during a fight outside a bar on Wearside.

John Potts, of Sunderland, died of a head injury after a fracas with Gordon Robson outside NE38 Sports Bar in Barmston, Washington, in November 2014.

Robson, 27, of Waskerley Road, Barmston, admitted manslaughter when he appeared at Newcastle Crown Court.

The hearing heard Mr Potts died at the scene. Robson was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 2 April.
