Tipu Sultan murder: Family and friends attend vigil
Family and friends of a South Shields man have attended a vigil outside the takeaway where he was shot dead.
Tipu Sultan, 32, was found with a single gunshot wound on 7 April at the back of the town's Herbs n Spice Kitchen, where he worked.
Two men were captured on CCTV fleeing the scene on a motorbike after what police have said was a planned attack.
Prayers were said and flowers were laid during the vigil, which was ahead of Mr Sultan's funeral on Wednesday.
Friend Jay Islam said: "This vigil is very important for our community and for Tipu's family."
A 35-year-old Newcastle man has been arrested and bailed in connection with the death.
